Time to make the F-796B Shims (or whatever they are called). The only stock I could find was a long piece that came with the wings. It was a short night in the shop, but I'll take it anyway I can get it.
I started by making a rough cut to the approximate length, then I squared the ends on the disc sander and marked the end with the angles prescribed on the plans.
Hmmmm…. I made them to spec, but they turned out about 1/8 long, back to the sander I go. I understand that this is fairly typical, and some adjustments are often necessary here.
