Edge-Finishing Aileron Stiffeners (Again)

Major déjà vu tonight as I worked on my second complete set of aileron stiffeners. I really hate edge-finishing stiffeners, it is so repetitive and it hurts my back to hunch over the deburring wheel. Oh well, it has to be done. I forgot the camera in the house again tonight, and since it is very cold out and the house is detached from the garage, I didn't want to leave the warmth of the heated garage to get it, sorry. My in-laws are in town for a visit so I put my father in-law to work tonight. I did the edge-finishing on the stiffeners first, then with his help I drilled the stiffeners to the skins, and then I gave him the stiffeners to deburr. All the stiffeners are now drilled to the skins skins and deburred. Tomorrow night, we dimple.

As I updated this web site I realize that with tonight's work I passed the 500 hour mark. I am not sure how I feel about that, but to tell you the truth I really don't care. I am not in a race and I try not compare myself to other builders. It will take me as long as it takes me to finish this thing. I am satisfied with my progress and I seem to be pretty much inline with the average, not that I am comparing myself to anyone. =8^)
