Citabria Flight

Since starting the RV and then buying the new house this year, my flying has really suffered. After owning your own plane (now sold), you don't realize what pain in the butt it is to go rent a plane. I have really been itching to fly so today I went to the local airport and took a refresher flight in a Citabria 7ECA. Surprisingly, while I was a bit rusty, my landings were pretty darn good. I wasn't checked out from this flight school so I had to take an instructor with me, and I must admit, instructors sometimes get on my nerves. I am not saying I know more than them, because I don't, but I have now had dozens of instructors over my flying life and so many of them have a slightly different opinion on how to do certain things. They all say things like, "Where did you learn to do that?" afterwards usually telling you that I am wrong and the their way is the only correct way. That's funny, because the last instructor I flew with said the same thing, so who is right? We aren't talking about anything major here, usually it isn't anything more than small technique type stuff, but I hate having to learn something new only to please a new instructor when I was taught differently (in many cases by much more experienced instructors). Don't get me wrong, I know he is just trying to help, and I am certainly not saying I won't do what I am told, it just sucks when you have developed a skills at the guidance of one instructor only to have another insist you learn it over again using his method. Oh well, it isn't my airplane, so I'll just grin and bear it. Ok, that's enough venting for one day.

Hey, I can see my house from here! This was the first time I have had a chance to see the new house and neighborhood from the air.
